Between Here and There is a series of paintings that investigates the theme and design quality of the zig-zag pattern through an intuitive process of line expression and mark making to mimic the waves of energy and movement in nature. Rendering these marks and imitating a natural history of time and place, the natural environment is depicted while presenting itself in the form of this zigzag pattern. In this work i am concerned with seeing lines within the work. and interconnecting more as they begin to work with each other. Layering and depicting a sense of time and place and progression of the natural world is the common connection in this work. This series of painting is my expression of creating a balance of beauty and my attempt to restore harmony through a mental, physical, emotional, spiritual process that I strive to do in my everyday life. These zig zag patterns and the element of nature they represent can show themselves at any instantaneous moment and it is up to us to appreciate and internalize their presence.
